Is that statement true for you? If you are living abroad would you move back to Jamaica to live today ? A lot of people say they wouldnt because of how the country has become with crime and corruption.

If you living a yaad...would you exit today to a foreign land. Quite a few said they would.

What about you?

My stance..No wey no betta dan yaad.

'Home is where the heart is'.

That is true for the vast majority of people everywhere.

Abroad, one is at most a 'second class' citizen.

The Jews, for instance, lived in Europe for over 2,000 years; and in the end, they were still viewed as 'outsiders', un-welcomed, gassed and baked by europeans.

In reality sometimes home can also justifiably be where your obligation is.
If yu go to foreign and in the midst of the bliss of being able to grab whatever possessions you want, yu end up having some youth, yu have a house and pool, yu load up the house and the youth dem with everything yu want, yu buy 3 car (work car, run round car and show off car), etc etc etc. Then one day yu say stop, me miss Jamaica, me waan go home. When yu look back at all the stuff yu accumulate plus de youth dem who are on the verge of going out on their own, yu can feel like you are torn between two lovers.  1) a love of Jamaica and 2) your obligation to tuff out a few more years and let the kids fly away gracfully. Then yu can go back and drink as much coconut wata as yu want.  In this case home becomes where your obligation is. So even though yu know yaad better is still lata for dat.

Always do what is good and righteous but nothing in excess or some will take advantage of you. The best things in life are free so you better live some life before they put you in that hole.

Particularly if you make up the minority in that society and is plagued by xenophobia?

Anyone over sixty will know this to be true, as this took place during their lifetime!
