Bet ya didn’t know that `shizzle ma nizzle’ means 'what's up nigger'.This favourite saying of popular DJ Elephant Man raises eyebrows when first heard but anyone who has seen him in action knows they will hear this at least once during his performance.
ELEPHANT Man is probably one of the best loved deejays 'inna di bizniz' as was evident during an afternoon spent in his company.

From chilling out with his friends at Vietnam Corner in Seaview Gardens, to driving on the road in his shiny red Hilux Surf jeep to catching crayfish in the Mineral Spring at Caymanas Gardens. Elephant Man is always being himself.

He appears to be very jovial, a bit mischievous but extremely polite and if he wasn't putting on an act then he certainly knows how to be a ladies gentleman.

`Me full a manners because that carry you through so it no meck no sense you hype. Me is a humorous person who like give joke me is a happy little youth'.

As a deejay who is still very active in his community, Elephant would not have wanted it any other way than 'the day in his life' to be spent with his friends where he grew up for most of his life.

The fifth of three brothers and 13 sisters, Elephant Man finds it a pleasure to be around his friends and family.

How does he describe himself? `I am someone who is nice and who check fi people and them feelings', he said. His reason for spending so much time in Seaview although he has an apartment off Hope Road, Elephant Man said `You can't run from your culture from you stick to you culture you can't go wrong and you have to remember where you coming from. Me remember the sufferation we go through where me never have no food but we never kill nobody and we just try and live nice and just meck up some songs and knock old pan. Is right ya so most a them songs deh build so me can't forget ya so', he said with such sincerity.

As for giving back to his community Elephant man says he does that a lot. `Sometimes me keep a dance in the community every month to get the youths together so they can enjoy themselves and on Mother's Day we keep a special something for the mothers.

He also is responsible for sending some of his smaller siblings to school as well as providing a bigger and better house for the family.

Elephant Man has extended his creativity to his 10 children. His first set of children names beginning with O which starts his first name Oneil.So there is Omar, Orane, Onesham Olivia, Omeka, Oneifa and Oneil. But Elephant Man said his sisters decided he was taking this too far and demanded that he make a change.The other children down the line were named Elepus (a girl), Eli One (a boy) and Eli Two (a girl). These names he insists are on the birth certificates of these children.

The deejay says: `I prefer to name my children. They are all mines and I don't want any complicated name that is so hard to call. I guess when others came in and felt they should have a say I gave them the opportunity because I had done enough'.
