Mr. Glamarus

Edward Higgins also known to his cronies by the name Mr. Glamarus was born in Greenwich Farm, around the pulsating reggae beats of Kingston.

In his tender teenage years Mr. Glamarus hung around few recording studio in the Kingston area such as Anchor, Penthouse and Black Scorpio and has done recording on these labels. Searching for his big break, Mr. Glamarus recorded his first two singles ‘The Right Time’ and ‘It’s Alright’ on the Black Solidarity Label. Mr. Glamarus has also done other collaborations such as ‘African Princess & Suffering’ with artiste DJ Scorpion and a solo single ‘Alison’ on the Builders Label. To date he has recorded an album on the Palais Royale Label.

Currently Mr. Glamarus has two releases, ‘Make it for real’ which is on the Hot Tracks Label and ‘A Girl Like You’ on the Witty Label. A video is has been done for ‘A Girl Like You’ which he states will be enjoying heavy rotation.

Mr. Glamarus also has performed on many major stage shows such as First Sundays Unchained held every first Sundays of each month, Sting in 2000, Teen Splash, Rebel Salute in 1999 and Heineken Startime in 2001.

Describing his style Mr. Glamarus told the STAR, “Well me now is like my style is unique cause mi sing lovers rock and mi can do dancehall to.”

Mr. Glamarus told the STAR, he has been inspired by many artistes; he explained, “Me is a man wey rate Waynie Wonder, Signing Melody and Tony Curtis… As earlier icon Dennis Brown and Bob Marley.”

With a positive outlook on the future, Mr. Glamarus aims to be successful with his musical career. He added, “Mi really want to make a name big big, to all a household name, locally and internationally, as far as possible, and endorse it like how Waynie Wonder tek it to an international level.”

He also added, “Mi waan all the great things that the music have to offer, including writing songs people can relate to, if a man or woman have a problem dem can listen to Mr. Glamarus song and find some comfort to them problems.”
