Shevon Stewart, also known as Hallow Point was born
on March 14th 1987 in the beautiful parish of St.
Mary where he lived with his mother,he then moved
to Brook Valley, Duhaney Park where he lived with
aunts and uncles. The rising star describes himself
as someone who is easy going, co-operative and someone
who doesn't allow things to bother him.
"It all started when I was about 8 years old"
said the artiste, "when my father used to play
cassettes and I would listen to the lyrics and study
it. Then I would go to school and DJ or 'clash' with
other students in the school. A friend of mine, Alozade,
who knew about my talent introduced me to Scatta the
producer, then I started voicing tunes for him."
This young entertainer says that he got his inspiration
from Super Cat. Every time he heard Super Cat on a
'wicked' rhythm or heard him sing a 'wicked' tune
he was inspired, and all his life growing up, all
he could think of was becoming a DJ and nothing else.
He also informed us that he has been working with
producers such as Mixing Lab and Cool Face and of
them all he prefers to work with Scatta, as Scatta
is patient and understanding.
Shevon describes his
style as a mixture of modern dancehall and the old
school 'slow fast' style. The positive thinking youngster
certainly proves to be promising as he does all of
his writing except for the song he did with Mr. Vegas
called 'Burn'. His vision for dancehall is to see
it much bigger than Pop music in the future and sees
himself doing the 'entire package', which is doing
shows and going on tours.
This young man keeps himself busy as he is currently
on the King of Kings record label doing a single called
'skank', and another single on the fungus rhythm,
he is also voicing tunes for Cool face. He had recently
collaborated with Mr. Easy and has done alot before
with various artistes such as Alozade, Mr. Vegas,
Bounty killer and Jaguar. He has no plans for any
tours right now but is hopeful about one with King
of Kings. There is no album out for Hallow Point as
yet but he is currently working on singles and waiting
on a record deal.
Shevon Stewart is no normal young man as he enjoys
eating vegetarian food and spends most of his time
on the road, moving to and from various studios but
his favorite spot is the Scatta studio in the Princeville
Plaza. And when he's not there he is spending time
with his 'special friend'. He describe his most embarrassing
moment as being the time he tried to go on stage and
the stage manager told him no young artiste on stage
and everyone backstage heard.
On a brighter note he
says his most memorable moment was his first time
working on a big stage and receiving 'forward' and
that was at Elephant man's birthday bash. The artiste
says he wants everyone to look out for Hallow Point
as he has come to make his mark in the industry, not
just to do some tunes and fade like others but to
become a veteran, a legend.
