HIGHER TONE
For this artiste, it's all about taking his music to the highest level. With the smooth sound of Turbulence with the energy and vibrancy of the great reggae/ Dance hall performers, singer/DJ Delroy Francis was summoned by his musical spirit to a higher calling. This desire led him to have the name he has today – ‘Higher Tone'.
Born May 16, 1986, Delroy was involved in singing, performing and drama at school and community events. He entered the music limelight in 2002, when he performed as lead singer for the group ‘ Neva Mind'. Gaining this experience, he gave several thrilling performances in and around Ocho Rios.
He decided to go solo in 2006, and started doing recordings for HD Studios and Triple S Studios. The year 2007 was a ‘step out' year for Higher Tone, which saw him performing at Bob Marley celebrations in 2007 and many other performances in the corporate area. In 2008, he started working with House A Stars records where he is now signed. His latest release – ‘I'll Be There' on the Happy Time Riddim is currently receiving great airplay.
Delroy Francis sees himself on par with other well accomplished entertainers such as the great Bob Marley and Sizzla, whom he has as his greatest influences. Apart form being a singer/DJ, Higher Tone is an avid player of the drum, bugle and trumpet.
He believes in living righteous and abiding in the fullness of the great powers of music. Using music as a positive force, he encourages young artistes as himself to ‘be your own motivator', keep focused and connected.
