Christopher 'Johnny' Daley

Bio: Christopher 'Johnny' Daley

A seasoned entertainer, well known in film, television, radio, theatre and comedy circles, Christopher 'Johnny' Daley possesses that magic ingredient of 'funny'. He just has to walk onto a stage to bring the house down. His popularity has reached near cult status in Jamaica.

Although his trademark is performance in plays, 'Johnny' is equally good at performing for a corporate crowd. As an experienced and professional entertainer, he possesses a rare ability to read his audience and deliver accordingly. He can be clean.

He is quick on the draw, can think on his feet and deliver one-liners at the speed of light. He is an astute businessman, big on ideas, adventure, fun and creativity.

He is able to adapt his presentation in keeping with the audience and event. He has hosted as well as performed at numerous corporate and entertainment events, including Reggae Sunsplash, 2007.

Chris 'Johnny" Daley may be known as the 'Cash Pot Man" from his work as the Supreme Ventures (Cash Pot) television advertising personality. There is still a large number of Jamaicans who remember him as "Johnny" from the 80s and 90s television programme, Lime Tree Lane. Christopher's versatility has made him one of Jamaica's most outstanding young talents. His memorable performances included those in 'Yard '99", 'Dis Ting", 'Oliver and the Gene", 'Cindy Relisha and the DJ Prince", the long running smash hit, Jamaica 2 Rahtid, and more recently Comedy Buss Tv Series.

While hanging at the then Half-time Sports Bar and Grill, comedians Chris 'Johnny" Daley and Donald "Iceman" Anderson "caught a vibe" and began performing mini comedy routines and sketches. Currently Johnny through his company Si Wi Yah Entertainment produces and regularly performs at BackYaad's "Crack-up", a monthly live comedy show series, the latest addition to Kingston's burgeoning night-time entertainment spots.

Born in Kingston on April 12, 1977, Cristopher's creative talents were first harnessed at Half Way Tree Primary School. While there, he was recognised as the Most Outstanding Male Student, and went on to pick up the first of his Best Actor Awards in the junior category in the highly regarded annual Speech and Drama Competition of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.

While in High School at Ardenne, Chris went on to participate in the JCDC's Speech and Drama Competitions where his name became almost synonymous with Gold Medal performances between 1989 and 1992.

He subsequently was awarded a summer scholarship to the Jamaica School of Drama where he took full advantage of the workshops put on by leading lights in Jamaica theatre.

It was as a result of his outstanding work in the Junior Theatre, where he won another award as Best Actor, that he was given the opportunity to audition for and perform in the role of 'Johnny' for the TV Comedy series "Lime Tree Lane", broadcast on the former national station, JBC-TV for 8 yrs.

To this day people still call him "Johnny". The rest as they say is history.
