Macka Head

"Look up on the stage, it's a bird it's a plane …" a line from a popular a song by Innocent Krew, sang by none other than, 'Macka Head'.

Cousin of Benzly Hype, Carey Campbell, also known as Macka Head of the Seaview Gardens based infamous Innocent Krew, is no stranger to the music scene. Born November 19, this Scorpio has been making music from he was a child, but only started professionally when he turned 19 and joined Innocent Krew. Growing up he was always around music. "As yout', we tek a swim over Wallin' and in the evening, is time for the girls."

It was while attending the Mona High School thanks to his imitation of the hairstyle called 'Kid n' Play', named after the American rappers who popularized it.

"Cream out me hair and mek it high up inna the air and go school. They almost sent me home cause them say I should cut it off. So me bredren dem see me and say, "My yout', mine you juke me! See how you stick up your hair like macka (thorns)!" he explained.

He remembers his most embarrassing moment, being onstage at a popular nightclub and forgetting the lyrics to his song. He also recalls his most memorable performance being when Jamaica qualified for the World Cup and performing on stage at the National Stadium after the joyful announcement.

'Mackadocious Mackmillie', enjoys chicken and steam fish and okra, and chilling at the studio or at home. He is working on his album, which is provisionally titled, 'What'z Uuup!' to follow his new single on Benzly Hype's 'The Wash' rhythm.
