Milochamz…a master at the turntables.

Patrick Reid also known as 'Milochamz' grew up with the music at his fingertips. His father operated a sound system where he would 'ketch his practice' playing the records before the real selectors came to start the show, all while he was still in primary school.

While attending Calabar High, he had 'spinoffs' with friends. They would beat the tables and chairs and build rhythms to DJ and 'clash' with each other. This is where Patrick began to realize his musical talents. Upon leaving high school, he began to expose himself more to music by playing at parties, dances and functions. He began to write songs with a good friend of his, Dwight, who was given the name 'Passenger 57' by the Warlord himself, Bounty Killer. Together they compiled a mixtape that made them very popular.

In 2002, Patrick and Dwight formed the Blueprint Squad, which comprised seven members: 'Milochamz', 'Passenger 57', 'Champagne Kid', 'Jah Head', 'Mystery', 'Coby J' and 'Sanya', the first lady.

The newly formed 'Blueprint Squad', aspiring to make themselves known in the music industry, met Mrs. Louise Fraser-Bennett, Bounty Killer's former manager, through Patrick. "She was very instrumental in helping us to know a lot of people that would help us get to where we wanted to be…at the top," said Patrick in a very sincere tone. Unfortunately, they were saddened by her death in 2004.

2005 saw Patrick putting himself even more into his music. One day at the studio found him looking at listening to a rhythm being made. This opened up an opportunity for him as there and then he decided that he would make a career out of music; more specifically, building rhythms.

Venturing into this field, which was not at all new to him, he began to work closely with Professional Daynjah, who encouraged and helped him in establishing himself as a producer and selector. 'Perilous' was a friend of his who was also instrumental in getting his career to where it is now.

In 2005, Milochamz established his record label - Heavy Artilery Records and got positive responses from fellow musicians and artistes alike for his creativity and uniqueness of the sound and feel of his rhythms. His repertoire of artistes grew to both established and fresh acts that all wanted to be on his hot new rhythms. Milochamz's music and name spread like wild fire!

Currently, he has a new rhythm (not yet released) called 'Premedz' featuring artistes such as Jah Mason, Mark Wonder, Norris Man, Natty King and fresh acts, which include Tehh-Rebl, Professional Daynjah, Wizard and Eloquence. The Heavy Duty Riddim, produced by Patrick features Turbulance, Mark Wonder, Lutan Fyah, Jah Victory, among others. The Heavy Duty Medley has received heavy rotation popular radio and TV stations and is doing well on the local music charts. Mixtapes…of course! Compiled and produced by Milochamz, the 1.5 Dancehall Mix - 'Ghetto Project' Mixtape is out and doing very well. It also features the Heavy Duty Riddim.

Talk about the successful black man…Patrick 'Milochamz' Reid is a quintessential example.
