He goes by the name Problem Child. He was born on
June 02, 1979 and grew up in Central Village, Spanish
Town, St. Catherine. Damion Hill is a talented DJ,
who plans to place his career at the highest peak
in the entertainment business.
Cool, quiet, easy going are just some of the words
to describe this talented young man. In addition to
entertainment, he has passion for fashion designing
and plans to own his own clothing line. As a Heart
Trainee, he is also a skilled plumber. His interest
for music began at age 12, when his father gave him
a guitar as a gift.
At that time he would perform
Papa San songs. As a student of Waterford High School,
he would practice his lyrics before his peers, while
beating the desk. His passion for music went deeper
when he started going to Main Street Studio. I
helped fellow artists such as Goofy, Bounty Killa
(Cancer) and Alozade (Gallop) to write songs.
Later he moved from Central Village to Red Hills
Road, where he was introduced to General Degree. Him
seh mi lyrics did full a too much gun tunes an
him encourage mi fi do jus girls tune an
fi leave di gun tune to other artistes. In 1998,
he did a song called Real Galist, which
was produced by Chesta from the Mixing Lab.
This hit
was his first radio play. Since then he has worked
with quite a few producers such as Snow Cone, Don
Cordionly from Vendetta and Scatta from Kings of Kings
Production. He is currently working with Kings of
Kings Record Label. His latest project is with Kings
of Kings Production, which will release a medley on
the Fungus Rhythm.
When not at the studio, he spends most of his time
with his three-year-old son, and go partying with
his friends at the Village Café, the Quad or
hanging out on his ends (corner). He has great plans
for the future in entertainment. For the future he
would love to do some collaboration with artistes
both locally and overseas. Artist such as: Assassin,
Vybz Kartel, Lady Saw, Cecile, J. Lo, Fabulous, Ja
Rule and P Diddy.
His hopes are that Dancehall will grow like Hip-Hop.
I also like entertainers their talent world-wide
on BET, MTV and other popular music stations."
His most memorable moments were working at a birthday
bash for Singing Melody some time ago at the Cactus
Night Club. To Problem Child it was a milestone in
his career. His most embarrassing moment occurred a
few years ago when he visited a prominent studio and
the producer disrespected him. But he viewed it as
apart of the business.
