"Music is my life", were the words of Joel
Martin aka 'Professional
Daynjah'.
Joel Martin grew up in the community of Seaview Gardens
and attended the Edith Dalton James High School in
Duhaney Park. Joel grew up listening to reggae music
and what we would now call 'Vintage Hits' which included
the likes of Bob Marley, Garnet Silk, Peter Tosh,
Yellowman, Professor Nuts and Jacob Miller.
Joel remembers discovering his musical talents at
the tender age of 5 when he used what he had learnt
at school to build rhymes.
Joel left school in 1996 and wasted no time in getting
himself involved with what he loved most - music.
However, at that time, the music industry was greatly
influenced by alliances, like the popular 'Scare Dem
Crew' or the Bounty Killer led 'Alliance' that we
have today. Because of this, he decided that he would
be patient and ensure that he was financially stable
before he sought to launch his career in music.
After achieving his financial goals, he partnered
with a long time friend of his, Patrick Reid,
and began to make music, produce songs and manage
artistes. He also established his own record label
- Hiternal Productions.
His work took him to the studio where he got the opportunity
to meet and work with a lot of prominent artistes
such as Lutan Fyah and newcomers, such as Spectacular.
Being an artiste himself, he took on the name 'Professional
Daynjah'. He has a single out called 'Pressure'
featuring young artiste Ice Block on the Heavy
Duty Riddim under the Hiternal Productions
label. He has worked with several established artistes
such as Turbulance, Mark Wonder, Bescenta and
Nitty Kutchie and young, upcoming artistes
such as Ax Saw, Tehh- Rebl, Steve Mashette Hack
Saw, and Jah Victory.
Working together, they have released the Heavy Duty
Riddim, which includes:
Ø Lutan Fyah - 'Onward
Rastafari'
Ø Professional Daynjah - 'Pressure'
Ø Turbulance - 'Bun
Smutty Mind'
Ø Mark Wonder - 'Long
Way To Travel'
Ø Ax Saw -

Ø Tehh-Rebl - 'Big
Up The Girls'
Ø Ice-Block -
'Damn Gun Ting'
Ø Bescenta -

Ø Nitty Kutchie - 'Real
Badman'
Ø Steve Mashette and Spectacular
