Rhymez Unlimited
Toussaint Smith
STAR Reporter
Ryhmez Unlimited is all about ‘crazy flows and crazy rhymes’.
The talented duo brings across tongue twisting, witty and conscious undiluted
dancehall rhymes. The members are Jahwara ‘Jazzwad’ Bynes and
Vaughn ‘Invader’ White.
Both members started out as a solo act, Jazzwad told the STAR, “well
me and Vader grow up together, but we use to be solo artist by we self and
tem we like come together on a stage show in Swallowfield and like people
say two a unno fi form a group cause unno rhymes dem caan done… unnno
fi Rhymes Unlimited.”
Currently Rhymez Unlimited has no songs on air but is working constantly
in the studios.
Jazzwad told the STAR, “we are currently voicing songs to be release,
and we did two wey day, one of the label is Hot Commodity and the other
is Restart Records… and we are trying to get a sign with a bigger
company.”
Even though the group has gotten a little exposure where major shows are
concerned; they have been under the limelight at Battle Thursdays, a new
series started at Priscilla’s Nightclub recently. The group also
has done other in-community concerts.
What makes them different, Jazzwad told the STAR, “the style still
is a young hip flavour mix with consciousness and we mixing a variety of
all type of style but mostly dancehall, an upbeat dancehall flavour, we have
crazy, crazy flows and lyrics.”
Jazzwad told the STAR he is inspired by the likes of, “Super Cat,
Bounty, Buju Banton and Big Yute” while Invader said he was inspired
by his father and Peter Tosh.
Sky being the limit for the group, they aim make there boundaries in dancehall
industry unlimited. “We can see we self going internationally still,
we have dem type of flows deh and the appearance, and from people see we
dem a go know say a good music and put we where we supposed to be.”
Like there influencers, from nominees at major awards, massive tours, record
deals, Rhymez Unlimited wants it all. “Me would a like weh mi influencers
dem achieve still, mi would a want reach fi dem status” Jazzwad said.
Invader added, “Me want build a foundation and help people who not
so fortunate, and help in other in any endeavors dem wish to proceed in.”
