Tamone
by Don-Reece Edwards
Young and talented are words used to describe Jamaica's
newest singing sensation, Tamone. This budding star
started singing at age seven (7) at a church in her
community. This entertainer, who is also a songwriter,
was introduced to Jah Snow Cone, who released her
hit single, 'Sweet Dreams'.
Born in Kingston, Alecia Thompson, 'Tamone', grew
up in Clarendon. She attended Clarendon College, Knox
Community College, and St. Josephs Teachers' College.
This talented young lady decided to pursue her career
in music. Having a quiet personality, she expresses
herself best through her songs.
Aretha Franklin, Tanya Stephens, Mahalia Jackson
and Lauren Hill are some of the females she admires,
because of their individuality, performance skills,
creativity, and aggression that they have brought
to the business. She also respects the effort that
female entertainers are putting out to establish themselves
in the music business.
For her career path, Tamone is willing to work hard
and fight for what she wants to achieve in the music
industry. Her latest project is a new single, 'Touch
the Sky', on the Applause Rhythm. It is somewhat a
version of 'Sweet Dreams'.
Presently, she spends most of her time on the road
promoting her music, meeting other people, and mixing
with other entertainers.
Tamone has a very bright future in entertainment.
Her desire is to soar to the height of excellent and
touch the lives of many in the process.
