Choc'late to perform at Western Consciousness
(Apr-22-2008)
On Sunday 13th April, 2008 Choc'late Allen of Trinidad and Tobago played her part well by assisting the organizers of The 'Sisters to Sisters Mediathon' to raise a total of $9 Million Jamaican Dollars (TT$816,428.58). This historical event received the full support of the entertainment industry particularly the female artistes. Although the 10 million dollar target fell short by 1 million, all proceeds from this venture will aid the Women's Centre Foundation of Jamaica's programme for adolescent mothers and the Bureau of Women's Affairs Shelter for Battered Women.
Choc'late Allen will once again take her place in history on Saturday, 26th April, 2008, as the first Trinidadian performer ever to perform at Juciful - Western Consciousness, Jamaica's premiere conscious stage show annually held at Llandilo Cultural Centre, Savanna-La-Mar, in the parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica. This year this roots and culture reggae festival in celebration of 'Good over Evil', celebrates its 20th anniversary, making the event the longest running stage show of its kind in Jamaica. Throughout the years, Western Consciousness has featured the most outstanding conscious reggae artistes all performing on one stage.
Choc'late is fast becoming a household name in Jamaica and a young celebrity among the entertainment community. At this event Choc'late will perform alongside artistes such as: Buju Banton, Ras, Bennie Man, Moses, Anthony B, Richie Spice, Mykal Roze, Tony Rebel, Eddi Fitzroy, Queen Ifrica, Etana, Brigadier Jerry, Josey Wales, Andrew Tosh, Chuck Fenda, George Nooks, Turbulance, Lutan Fire and I Wayne just to name a few.
When asked about the overwhelming support she has been receiving Choc'late replied, "I am thankful for all my blessings and I will continue to promote my message to the best of my ability", the youngster went on, "I would also like to say a special thank you to the Trinidad and Tobago Entertainment Company for believing in me, this would not be possible without their support."
Choc'late has been described by Jamaica's music industry experts as a mega star in the making, apart from live performances she is currently working on the release of her 1st single scheduled to be out by the end of April 2008.
