Residents Spauldings and Christiana were recently treated to a an evening of fun, relaxation and entertaining music when that Chapter of the Jamaica Red Cross held a fundraising concert featuring the Cari-Folk singers.
The concert held at the Sacred Heart Academy Hall in Christiana, started at approximately 5:30 p.m. and was well attended by patrons from the neighbouring communities.
Other than the melodious singing of the Cari-Folk members, drumming was a highlight of the function.
Mr. Phillip Supersad, renowned ceramist and a lead drummer with the Cari-Folk Singers drummed the audience to their feet, some of whom danced to the music he so ably produced. This period of un-diluted drumming allowed the Singers to take a break and the audience to reflect or to express their approval of the country’s cultural heredity.
The concert continued until about 8:45 p.m. when the vote of thanks was given and the curtains downed.
