"Friends of friends", more than a friendly occasion!

The Vibes Connect party, held at the Epiphany Too night club in New Kingston

last Saturday, was indeed, more than a friendly occasion.

Dubbed "friends of friends", the party created the perfect ambiance for

'singles' to come and lime and mingle all night long, without having to worry

about a thing.

Upon entering the night club, patrons were given a number and a name tag; the

number to peer off males with females, and name tags for whatever alias you

wanted to go under for the night.

Despite the obvious competition for crowd due to the Heineken Good Times that

was being held at the Mass Camp Village, patrons came with the clear intention

of having a great time.

This was ensured by Zip ZJ Johnny Kool, who spun hit tunes from the early

dancehall era through to the latest of hits. Patrons danced and got down to

dancehall and soca music all night long.

Several prizes and give-away baskets were also issued throughout the night by

Tameka Foster of Zip FM, who added her own flavour and spice to the night's

proceedings.

It was the first party in a long while that brought single males and females

together without any of the 'new couples' (for the night maybe) having a problem

with their partner.

All who attended, came in search of something, and trust mi, dem did get it!

One young lady who attended, searched in earnest for her matching number (male),

and without success, she grabbed the nearest man to her, and the two were a

spectacle in the centre of the dance floor.

The women dressed ravishingly, as they came with some seductive intentions in

mind. Some were clad in some really short, lose-fitting mini-skirts, while

others went the route of wearing some very close-fitting pants and impy-skimpy

blouses. The guys, however, were not to be outdone, as they too, came dressed to

impress these 'single' women. Some were clad in dressing pants and gentlemen

shoes, and guess what, no caps were allowed, keeping the party-goers in

semi-formal mode.

At the end of the night, many new 'friendships' were formed and other

relationships broken, but one thing that can be assured, was that patrons played it

safe, as one of the event sponsors, durex condoms, ensured that patrons got free samples. Other sponsors were Appleton VX and Best Buds.
