Supervising Teacher

Language Educator (English language, English Literature and CAPE Communication Studies) I applaud the effort of the organisers of this challenge as they have given students the opportunity to know more about the inner workings of our country. I also see this competition as a good research instrument in that it will provide feedback on the public’s awareness of the Act as well as assess the effectiveness of the information being meted out.

Students

I am a 16 year old, 5th Form student of the Wolmer's Boys’ School. I enjoy working hard to achieve success in all areas of my life. I am particularly enthused about my country, as a patriot I am in 100% agreement with the Access to Information Act as I believe it further enhances the right of our people. Entering this competition will highlight for me the efficiency or inefficiency of this Act and provide knowledge on matters to which we as average Jamaicans are normally oblivious about.

I am a 17 year old student of Wolmer's Boys' School.I believe in equality within our nation and the world among all races,class and nationalities. As a teen in today's society I try to live my life by the words of this philosophy which I hold dear to my heart,"It doesnt take great people to do great things just unselfish ones".I was drawn to this competition due to my thirst for knowledge.I was curious as to how our political system works and also what pieces of information exists that is made available to the generally public and to make sure they are aware that they have the right to view these documents.I also ventured into this competion with an open mind that is I hoped for the unexpected and with that mindset we were able overcome our difficutlies and work together has a team.

I am a transfer student from Campion College who was recommended to take part in the competition by my Communication Studies teacher who said I had the wit and know how to contribute greatly to the team.I believe that God should come first in my life and my studies after as God is the center of my life.In the future i hope to persue a career in the field of medicine or pharmaceutics.

I am a 16 year old at the above named institution where i am currently enrolled in their 6th form program.I currently study the science asi hope to be an aeronautical engineer.I enjoy playing basketball and chess.
