Living for Christ

Being a Christian is so hard

At times I lose my focus in serving the Lord

Sometimes it seems like he is not there

And at times I wonder if he still cares.

I know my heart is for God alone

For only he can satisfy,

But oh how much I yearn for things

That in the end are but lies.

The wickedness of this world is so hard to bear

And it seems like it intensifies with every passing year.

Lord, on my knees I would confess

To bare my sinful heart to thee

Thy full forgiveness I would know

And from this weight of guilt be free.

Lord, take my life and make it wholly thine

Fill my poor heart with thy great love divine

Take all my will, my passion, self and pride

I now surrender, Lord

In me abide.
