The Recording Industry Association of Jamaica (RIAJam) was established in 2003, with a view to providing a vehicle for enhancing the capacity and efficiency of individual and corporate practitioners involved in the business of recording and distribution of music and music videos.The mission of the RIAJam is to uplift the level of professionalism in the Jamaican recording industry and to increase the financial and other benefits to the Jamaican economy from participation by local players in the global music market.
The membership of the RIAJam includes several of the leading music producers, music recording studios and music distributors in Jamaica, who together represent a significant amount of the very successful recordings and performers present in the international popular music market.
The RIAJam is also responsible for the development of the recently formed International Reggae Music Academy (IRMA), which is established to provide the necessary infrastructure for the staging of the International Reggae Industry Award (IRI Award).
