Well known radio counsellor Rev. Oliver Daley says our Jamaican history is written in violence and it is because of this reason that we cannot find an arawak descendant-our original inhabitants to honour on Heroes Day.
Rev Daley who is Minister of the Ridgemount United Church in Mandeville was guest speaker at the Heroes Day civic ceremony at Cecil Charlatan Park in Mandeville toady.
But according to Chairman of the JCDC Manchester Homer Brady, neither was there honour for any of our contemporaries as for the first time in eighteen years no one received a parish award for Manchester. This was because only one persons had responded to the applications sent out by the JCDC for this year honours.
