The MultiCare Sports Programme moves into high gear with the annual series of MultiCare Foundation Inter-Schools Sports Competitions starting in November for the 2007 – 2008 academic year.Slated for 14th & 15th November are the MultiCare Inter-Schools Volleyball (Mixed) Competition and the MultiCare Inter-Schools Football (Boys) Competition.The MultiCare Inter-Schools Netball (Girls) Competition will be held on the 20th & 21stNovember.
Coaching is already underway for the zonal competitions in participating schools. All three competitions are open to students from the 31 MultiCare-assisted schools in East, West and Central Kingston and Greater Portmore.
Adopting a holistic approach to child development, the MultiCare Foundation uses Sports as a catalyst to replace the culture of violence with a culture of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and understanding.
In addition to the acquisition of sporting skills, emphasis in the MultiCare Sports Programme is on the promotion of positive inter-personal relationships, teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.
